Anonymous Student Support Tip-line (925) 417-5199

The Pleasanton Unified School District has created an anonymous tip line for students or parents to use in times of personal crisis or emergency. Calls or text messages to this phone number will be kept anonymous and confidential.

The tipline is an avenue for students or adults to report concerns about fellow students. Messages will be reviewed and directed to appropriate District staff for follow up. Please take this number and place it somewhere prominently near your home phone or add into your contacts list on your cell phone so that you can have immediate access to it in a time of need. Village High School offers a variety of counseling activities that support student success. We provide assistance with the development of an individual academic plan, frequent credit checks, college admissions counseling, career preparation and post-secondary planning, and student portfolio maintenance. Village High School offers a variety of counseling activities including academic, personal, and crisis counseling. Individual counseling is available as well as various support groups which include topics such as stress management and healthy relationships provided by the Hume Center. The counselor also meets with each student individually to develop an academic plan for credit recovery, career preparation, and community college admissions counseling.

The counselor is full time and also serves the students at Horizon (School Age Parent Program). The counselor offers resources to parents and students in areas such as long-term therapy, parent groups, and treatment facilities. Parents can make an appointment with the counselor by email at or by calling (925) 426-4275. Students can drop by anytime to see if the counselor is available or a student can fill out a "counselor request form" and the counselor will schedule an appointment.

Portia Bell Hume Behavioral Health and Training Center

As part of the counseling program at Village High School, students have the opportunity to participate in individual and/or group counseling services provided by the Portia Bell Hume Behavioral Health and Training Center (aka The Hume Center). Topics that may be discussed in counseling sessions include relationships, motivation, conflict resolution, overcoming obstacles, facing challenges, social support and making positive decisions. It is our school’s belief that students can benefit from these services in ways that will help them now and well into the future.
